Round 1 Fixture For 2017 AFL Season Confirmed

The 2017 Round 1 fixture has been announced. Although the times have not been confirmed as of yet, the matches that will be played have been revealed.

The first game of the 2017 AFL season will start with a traditional Thursday night clash at the MCG between Carlton and Richmond.

On Friday night will see Travis Cloke face his old side as Collingwood take on the Western Bulldogs who will be fresh after their Grand Final win.

The first game on Saturday will see Sydney Swans play Port Adelaide at the SCG in their first game since the disappointing Grand Final loss.

North Melbourne have a home game to start the season as they will go up against West Coast at Ethiad Stadium.

The Q Clash will happen in round 1 as Gold Coast and Brisbane will play at Metricon Stadium.

The night game will see Essendon with the return of some of their player from suspension, play against Hawthorn who will have some different names in their team.

Adelaide Crows have a home game at the Adelaide Oval and will play against GWS who are currently premiership favorites for the 2017 season.

The two teams who will be fighting for finals next season in St Kilda and Melbourne will battle at Ethiad Staidum.

Geelong will have to fly to Perth to take on Fremantle at Patersons Stadium who have some fresh faces in their tram to close out round 1.
