Hawthorn have signed forward Ty Vickery after Richmond decided not to match their offer.
Vickery has signed a 2 year contract with rumoured by be worth around $500,000 a season according to Fox Sports.
Richmond will receive compensation as Vickery was a free agent and will get a second round pick in the upcoming draft which is currently pick 26.
Vickery was drafted to Richmond back in the 2008 draft with pick 8 and went on the play 118 games and kick 158 goals.
The 2016 season was not the best season for him as he was in and out of the side for much of the year.
Hawthorn will be happy that this deal is done and dusted as they can now focus on signing Jaeger O’Meara from Gold Coast and Tom Mitchell from Sydney.
This is the first trade that has been done this trade period and there will be plenty more to come in the next coming weeks as the trade period opened today.
