Free Agency has officially opened
The NAB AFL free agency has opened today and there are a few people that may be moving as early as today. Steven Motlop might be traded
Geelong forward Steven Motlop could be traded as he is weighing up his future. There were talks a few weeks back that Motlop was going to Richmond in exchange for Brett Deledio but there have been rumours that other clubs are interested. Although it believes Motlop is happy with his contract at Geelong, he is still unsure whether he will be there next season.
Hamish Hartlett wants to stay at Port
Port Adelaide midfielder Hamish Harlett has decided he wants to remain at the Power. He travelled to Melbourne to talk with some Victorian clubs but after a golf day with captain Travis Boak and coach Ken Hinkley, he wants to stay at Alberton. Richmond, Essendon, North Melbourne and Carlton had some interest in Hartlett but it looks like now a trade is unlikely.
O Meara and Prestia deals are not near completion
According to the Gold Coast Suns, deal for midfielders Jaeger O’Meara and Dion Prestia are far from done. Gold Coast football manager Marcus Ashcroft said that discussions are underway but no where near finalised. O’Meara and Prestia requested trades to Hawthorn and Richmond respectively and it looks like these deals may not happen until the last few days of the trade period.
