Unsportsman’s AFL Trade Rumours – Thursday 6th October, 2016

Nathan Vardy could be an option for West Coast

In need of a ruckman due to Nic Naitnui being sidelined for most of next season, Geelong’s Nathan Vardy has been named as an option for West Coast. The ruckman/forward has had a tough time with injury but is a talented big man when he is playing. There has not been any indication that Vardy wants a trade but it may be chance come trade week starting next week.

Jack Frost wants a move to Brisbane

Collingwood defender Jack Frost has requested a trade to Brisbane. If a trade can be done, Frost will sign a 3 year contract to end up at the Lions. He is out of contract and has not been in the Collingwood side since round 12 due to a combination of injury and form. This will be a great move for Brisbane as they need experience defenders to help their youngsters.

Is Michael Barlow on the move?

According to journalist Damian Barrett, Fremantle midfielder Michael Barlow could be moving up to the Gold Coast. The 28 year old who has played 126 games, is out of contract and looks to be leaving Fremantle. Barlow has been in and out of the side this season due to form and injury. Gold Coast have expressed interest as they are looking to add more experienced players to their young squad.

Shane Kersten could be moving to Fremantle

Geelong forward Shane Kersten looks set to be moving west to Fremantle. He is expected to have his medical either this week or next week. He played 17 games this season and kicked 22 goals but was left out of this year’s finals series. It looks like Geelong right now will not try and keep him so he looks set to move back to his home state and land at Fremantle.
