Gold Coast want Pearce Hanley
Gold Coast are in the front seat to secure the services of Brisbane midfielder, Peace Hanley. It was reported that he toured the Gold Coast facilities yesterday as he explores his options. If he does leave, Brisbane would probably be looking for a first round pick for him as he is one of the senior players at the Lions.
Geelong join race for Zach Touhy
Geelong has joined North Melbourne in going after Carlton defender Zach Touhy. It was stated in an earlier article that Touhy is happy to remain at Carlton but North Melbourne have offered a 4 year deal compared to Carlton’s 3 years. Geelong haven’t officially made a bid for the Irishman but are interested in signing him. However, Geelong would need to trade some players if they want to fit Touhy in their salary cap.
Western Bulldogs could lose Lin Jong and Nathan Hrovat
Western Bulldogs midfielder Lin Jong has stated that he wants senior football opportunity and that may not be at the Western Bulldogs. Gold Coast are believed to have offered a 3 year deal and Jong is contemplating whether he should leave or not.
Meanwhile, uncontacted forward Nathan Hrovat may be looking for more opportunity somewhere else. Carlton are believed to have expressed interest in signing him with other several clubs also looking into him.
Three way trade could be on the cards that includes Cam McCarthy
GWS forward Cam McCarthy could be involved in a three way trade that sees him land back in WA at Fremantle. West Coast are the other club that may be involved in a trade with Fremantle and GWS. It is rumoured that McCarthy will end up at Fremantle with the expense of Fremantle forward Hayden Ballantye who goes to West Coast and with West Coast defender Eric MacKenzie heading to GWS. If there is any truth to this, there would not be any real loser in this deal as they can all bring something to their fellow clubs.
