Unsportsman’s AFL Trade Rumours – Tuesday 4th October, 2016

Hamish Hartlett won’t be traded to the Adelaide Crows but maybe to a Victorian club

Port Adelaide midfielder Hamish Hartlett is still weighing up his options as he decides whether to stay at the Power or find a new club. Preferably, Hartlett wants to move to a Victorian based club if he wants a move away from Alberton but Gold Coast are believed to be interested in his signature. It is unlikely that Hartlett will be traded to their rival club in the Adelaide Crows. He has a contract until the end of 2021 but the Power are shopping this trade period to see what they could potentially get for him. He will likely make a decision at the end of this week.

Travis Cloke willing to take a pay cut to make it at the Bulldogs

Collingwood forward Travis Cloke is apparently willing to take a pay cut so he could land at the Western Bulldogs. His manager Daniel Connors spoke on Trade Radio and said the pay cut could be over 50% of what he was making at Collingwood. It is rumoured that Collingwood may accept a fourth round pick to allow Cloke the move to the Bulldogs in which could be one of the first trades done when it opens next week.

Tom Mitchell to make his decision this week

Sydney midfielder Tom Mitchell will meet up with the Sydney Swans this week to discuss his future. Sydney have offered a 5 year contract to stay but Hawthorn have offered the same deal but more money. There have been talks all year of Mitchell leaving to come back to Victoria. We should know more at the end of the week of what the 23 year old’s intentions are.

Collingwood and Geelong are interested in Daniel Wells

North Melbourne midfielder Daniel Well has yet to make a decision whether he will leave the Kangaroos. According to his manager Liam Pickering, Collingwood have made an offer for Wells while Geelong have expressed some interest. It is reported that Collingwood have offered a 3 year contract while North Melbourne have offered 2 years. Wells will attend his clubs’ best and fairest count this Friday night before making a decision on his playing future.
