There are as many as 4 clubs that are wanting Chris Mayne’s signature and after a horrid season for Fremantle, he may be looking for a trade back to his home state of Victoria.
According to WA Today, North Melbourne, St Kilda, Collingwood, and Richmond are the clubs that are interested in the 27 year old and since he is a free agent at the end of the season, a trade could be likely.
If he is to leave then Fremantle will be able to get compensation for him which will likely be an early 2nd round pick and since he will be an unrestricted fee agent, he will be able to pick a club of his choice.
Mayne has played 171 games for Fremantle and has been a great servant for the club. He can play as a lead up forward or can play tall and showed his versatility as he spend a little bit of time this season playing in defence.
It has not been Mayne’s best season but he has shown that he could play a big role in any team especially back in 2013 when he helped Fremantle make their first ever Grand Final appearance.
He will be a good fit at any of the 4 clubs named here and at age 27, he still has plenty of good football ahead of him.
