Bayern Munich’s Mario Gotze has made a remarkable return to Broussia Dortmund as he has signed a 4 year deal to be worth around 22 million pounds (45 million dollars).
Gotze left Dortmund back in 2013 to join Bayern Munich but was not able to secure a spot in the first 11 during his time there.
He only started in 24 games last season and admitted that moving to Bayern Munich was one he regretted.
He had been at Borussia Dortmund since he was 9 years old and throughout his junior and youth years, he developed into a quality attacking midfielder that was able create and score goals.
This is a good move for Gotze as he will get more opportunity to prove himself at Borussia Dortmund but he should have not left in the first place. He was 22 years old when he left for Bayern Munich and not getting much first team game time ruined his development.
However still only 24, he has time to continue his development at the club that he played with in his junior years and I’m sure he can get back to his best at Dortmund especially since there is a spot in the midfield after the selling of Henrikh Mkhitaryan to Manchester United.
Expect Gotze to rekindle his form and reunite with the likes of Marco Reus and Shinji Kagawa on the field. It is time to see Mario Gotze prove to the Dortmund faithful that he can return to his best football again.
