The NBA crazy season has gotten off to a bang. With over $US1 Billion spent on Free Agent contracts on the first day alone. Here are a few of the more notable deals struck. 

 

DeMar DeRozan: 5 years, $139 million to remain with Toronto Raptors

Bradley Beal: 5 years, $130 million to remain with Washington Wizards.

Timofey Mozgov: 4 years, $64 million from Los Angeles Lakers

Jordan Clarkson: 4 years, $50 million to remain with Los Angeles Lakers

Nicolas Batum: 5 years, $120 million to remain with Charlotte Hornets

D.J. Augustin: 4 years, $29 million from Orlando Magic

Ish Smith: 3 years, $18 million from Detroit Pistons

Jeremy Lin: 3 years, $36 million from Brooklyn Nets

Al Jefferson: 3 years, $30 million from Indiana Pacers

Mirza Teletovic: 3 years, $30 million from Milwaukee Bucks

Matthew Dellavedova: 4 years, $39 million offer sheet from Milwaukee Bucks

Evan Fournier: 5 years, $85 million to remain with Orlando Magic

Jeff Green: 1 year, $15 million from Orlando Magic

Solomon Hill: 4 years, $48 million from New Orleans Pelicans

Evan Turner: 4 years, $70 million from Portland Trail Blazers

Chandler Parsons: 4 years, $94.8 million from Memphis Grizzlies

Andre Drummond: 5 years, $130 million to remain with Detroit Pistons

 

Perhaps the strongest sign on the craziness of the state of NBA free-agency and the desperation of teams to clamp down big deals – the biggest deals made on day one were. 

Mike Conley: 5 years, $153 million to remain with Memphis Grizzlies

Hassan Whiteside: 4 years, $98 million to remain with Miami Heat

Dwight Howard: 3 years, $70.5 million from Atlanta Hawks.

      1. What worries me is how long these contract are for in a few years from now a team with an average player that has to pay him 25 million a year is going to be in trouble.
