The match between Manchester City and Real Madrid ended in a 0-0 draw thanks to some superb goalkeeping from Manchester City’s Joe Hart. Real Madrid lost Cristiano Ronaldo before the match due to a thigh injury but the team created chances especially towards the end of the game where Pepe was denied by Hart from close range. Manchester City were strong defensively and had chances to score but were not able to capitalise. It was a battle of which defence will crumble but both stood tall and came away with a 0-0 draw. It is all to play for in the second leg where Real Madrid will think that they can win it at home while Mancester City will think they can sneak a victory there.

This match saw Atletico Madrid grab a 1-0 victory over Bayern Munich thanks to an amazing solo goal by Saúl Ñíguez in the 11th minute. The first half saw Atletico attack and as a result, scored early. For the rest of the half, they created chances but were not able to extend their lead. In contrast to the first half, Bayern Munich started to show their slick passing and started creating shots which forced Atletico to stay back and hit Bayern on the counter attack. It ended 1-0 with Atletico gaining a small advantage heading into the second leg. It will be an interesting second leg as Bayern are usually strong at their home ground while Atletico are great at shutting teams down so they will be hard to break down.
