A new change for Newcastle United as they signed former Real Madrid and Liverpool manager, Rafa Benítez to take over as manager. With only 9 games remaining in the season and the club currently sitting in the relegation zone, Rafa Benítez will have a lot to work on. Despite only being 1 point away from survival and still got a couple games more than other clubs around them on the table, the team needs to improve from their recent performances that has forced them in the position they are currently at.
Benítez has already undertaken face-to-face meetings with his players and stated where Newcastle needs to improve. He says it might be confidence, saying that the team has potential but has failed to deliver this season. Benítez is a good manager and has shown that with winning 2 La Liga titles with Valencia, an Italian Cup with Napoli and a UEFA Champions League Trophy with Liverpool, so if he is able to inject confidence into the playing group then you may see an entirely different team on the pitch for the remaining 9 matches.
The Benítez reign starts tomorrow, against league leaders Leicester City, and if they can find a way to win the match, that will give the club, Benítez, the players and their fans confidence to stay in the Premier League for next season.
