Newcastle United manager Steve McClaren is under pressure to keep his job after his club’s performances this season that leaves them in 19th place and on the verge of relegation with 10 games left to play. The club has reportedly held a crisis meeting today in which McClaren was not believed to be involved.
There are reports that the club is planning to contact David Moyes, Nigel Pearson and Rafael Benítez. Moyes and Pearson are believed to be interested in taking the job. Moyes recently was at Real Sociedad before he was sacked last year. Pearson was Leicester City’s manager until he was sacked at the end of last season. Benítez was sacked by Real Madrid earlier this year and is unlikely to take the job.
There have been rumours that McClaren’s time might be up at Newcastle but we will just have to wait and see how the next few days pan out.
